A wonderful Patch Box with a nice blue, gold, and white star enamel decoration on the lid. Originally patch boxes contained a sweet treat and were purchased by traveling sailors and merchants. The sailor would then give the box to his girlfriend or wife when he arrived home. The woman would then eat the treat and use the box for cream afterwards.
Overall nice condition with minor wear, some crackle in the decoration, and a small side flake to the decoration.
