Boston, MA

ca. 1810

A truly amazing Boston, MA card table with a serpentine front with a central oval birdseye maple veneer medallion flanked by two rectangular birdseye maple panels all surrounded by mahogany veneer. Each side of the table features a birdseye maple panel. The legs feature a fluted top section above a ring turned and reeded leg terminated by a tapering foot. There is a somewhat legible chalk inscription on the underside of the top. The secondary wood is white pine. This table was absolutely influenced by John and Thomas Seymour.

The table is 29 1/2" tall, 36 3/4" wide, and 18 1/4" deep.

The front right leg has been repaired where the leg is secured to the sides. The back two boards which facilitate the swivel motion of the back leg are likely replacements. The table has been refinished and there are some minor veneer patches.
