This 15th-century bronze measure is a relic of a world where metalwork was as much about artistry as it was about function. Its elegantly curved form and sturdy construction speak to the skill of the craftsman who shaped it, pouring molten bronze into a mold before refining its surface by hand and applying it's handle. Over time, a nice mellow patina has developed with softly rounded edges from human touch over hundreds of years.
