A wonderful Patch Box with a the motto "within you will find what's fair and kind." This probably refers to a sweet treat that was originally in the box when it was purchased by a traveling sailor or merchant. The sailor would then give the box to his girlfriend or wife in his home port when he arrived home. The woman would then eat the treat and use the box for cream afterwards.
Overall nice condition with minor wear and some crackle.
