This teapot was made by Ephriam Capen of New York and later Brook Farm in West Roxbury, MA. It is stamped "E. CAPEN". The "N" in "Capen" is very faint, but visible under good light. This teapot has nice form with a quite distinctive finial. Teapots Made by Capen are very rare as he mostly made lamps.

The teapot exhibits overall general war from use and there is a dent in one side.
