Yuan Dynasty
This Shufu-type dish, dating to the Yuan Dynasty (1279–1368), is an elegant example of early Chinese porcelain associated with the Jingdezhen kilns. Characterized by its creamy white glaze and often subtly molded decoration—Shufu wares are noted for their understated refinement and were likely intended for imperial or elite use.
The name “Shufu” derives from dishes bearing the Chinese characters 書賦 ("shu fu"), meaning "privy council" or "imperial documents," though not this dishe does not carry this mark.
This particular dish has a 2" section of the restored rim, indicating it suffered a break or chipping, which has since been professionally conserved.
