Here is a wonderful framed pair of Spencerian calligraphies. The top drawing features a stag leaping over a ravine with a tiny steamboat in the background. The bottom drawing features a lion atop a rock. The stag is unsigned, but both drawings are clearly done by the same hand. The lion is signed "Drawn by E. W. Benedict" and dated August 2 1882.
Both drawings are in nice shape and framed behind UV resistant glass. Both have some mild toning in areas.
