This San Kamphaeng ware vase, dating to the Lan Na period (14th–15th century), is a remarkable example of Northern Thai stoneware from the famed San Kamphaeng kilns in Chiang Mai province. Crafted from robust stoneware and coated in a lustrous greenish celadon glaze, the vessel features a dish-shaped mouth and two vertical ring handles, a form both functional and elegant.
The glaze, with its soft crackle and pale green hue, reflects the influence of Chinese Longquan celadon wares while retaining a distinctly Thai character. The San Kamphaeng kilns were among the most important ceramic centers of Lan Na, producing high-fired wares for both local use and trade across Southeast Asia.
